I got an email the other day from April of SecondSister Jewelry. She had a dinner party, raffled handmade items, and raised $220 for CFC!! Isn’t that amazing! You can visit her blog post to see beautiful pictures and read more about her dinner party. Thank you April! Make sure you go visit her beautiful shop (and buy something!)
LWB posted this photo of Leah on their Anhui Cleft Healing home blog (link here).

There still isn’t a report on Noah, but I got a bunch of new photos of him. He is a little shy, but very cute!
I got Leah’s June report today. She is having a tough time adjusting to her new home. She has been sick and they’re a little worried about her weight. But, there were some happy things in the report. She enjoys bathtime, her nanny recites a poem to her that is from her Chinese name, and they say she sleeps like a boxer (her fists up). Exept from the one photo, you can see she isn’t too happy. Hopefully she adjusts soon and gets better.
David is our new sponsored child. Since Emma got adopted her sponsorship gets transfered to David. This is what Nancy, the foster care coordinator said about him
He is a sweet little boy that has had his lip
repaired, but still has an open palate. He is always
smiling and happy in his pictures. David also is
making good progress on his development. He is just a
little over a year old, and cute as can be!
Today I received the wonderful news that Emma has been adopted domestically (which means a Chinese family adopted her)! The couple who adopted her has a 15 year old son. The father raises livestock and the mother is a school teacher. They sent me a photo of the couple. Its their marriage license photo. I’m not sure if I can post it, so I won’t. But, it is black and white and a bit fuzzy anyway. I am so happy Emma now has her forever family. She would of had 2 more months of sponsorship so we will be getting a new child to sponsor. The money raised for Emma during the 2nd fundrasier will now be given to our new sponsored child. I will post again when the new child is assigned to us.
1. I got a very nice letter from the manager of the Cleft Healing home where our newest sponsor, Leah, is at. She thanked us for sponsoring Leah.
2. After the auction I planned on sending the rest of the books & toys to the preschool. I emailed the manager and she said they no longer needed it. So, I have donated the rest of the items to the Ronald McDonald house in Baltimore. A lady I know volunteers there so I asked her if they could use it. She said yes and took it down there. She said they might save it and use some of the items for Christmas presents. So even though Gracie’s preschool wasn’t able to have these things, I’m glad there is a good use for it.
I’ll update again when I get some report updates!
All the unsold items from the auction are now at Etsy. When an item sells the money will go into the savings account to extend the kids’ sponsorship when its time. The items will remain on Etsy until they are sold or expire on Oct. 13. Anything that doesn’t sell will be in the third auction. Go here to visit the etsy shop.
Everything that has been paid for has been shipped, so today I have the amount of money we have raised. We raised…drum roll please….$1079.21 ! There are still a few items that need to be paid for and when they are the money will go up about $70! This is how the money was used:

The money will allow Gracie and Emma another 10 months of their sponsorships.
Next, we have two new sponsored children!

Leah is in the Anhui Cleft Healing Home. She has a cleft lip & palate and being in the home gives her individual care before, during, and after her surgery. The sponsorship is for 6 months. The Cleft Home as a blog and they update frequently with cute stories about the babies: http://www.lwbclefthome.blogspot.com

We are also able to sponsor a cute little boy, Yi, for preschool! His sponsorship is for 9 months. There isn’t much information about him on the site, but he will be able to attend the brand new preschool!
Like I said, there is still about $70 that needs to be paid. This money, and any other donated money, will go into the savings account. When all the children’s sponsorships expire the money will go to extend their sponsorships.
Thank you to everyone who donated and/or bid. As you can see, your time and support has been used well.
A lot of items have already ended and many are ending today or tomorrow. There are still a lot of things without bids! We are almost at our goal so please go and bid on some things if you haven’t already! Go here and start bidding! Do it for the girls!
